You should size up when ordering a cremation urn, because you don't want the urn to be full to the brim. If your urn is filled to the brim, the lid may not fit correctly. The correct size urn should have a slightly larger capacity than the volume of ashes you have. For example, if you have 200 cubic inches of cremated remains, it would be better to choose a standard adult urn that has a volume of 220 cubic inches, rather than a standard adult urn that has a volume of 200 cubic inches.
