The longest lasting urn materials are metal, stone, and ceramic, depending on where the urn is placed and how it is maintained. Archaeologists have found intact ceramic urns from ancient Rome, which were buried in underground columbaria for millennia. If you have to put the urn outside, however, your best bet is a durable metal or cultured stone.
