In the United States, you can transport cremated remains across state lines. If you are traveling by car, make sure you have securely packaged your loved one's ashes and cremation urn so that they stay safe while driving. If you are traveling by plane or having your loved one's ashes shipped separately, make sure you are following any guidelines set by your airline or delivery service. No matter your mode of transportation, be sure to have a copy of your loved one's death certificate or certificate of cremation at hand in case you are asked to provide it.
